Journal 09 — The Sun and The Moon: Old Friends in the Same Sky

Sunday, 12th October 2025

Jai Shree Krishna 🦚

Some evenings, when the light softens and the air smells like endings,

I imagine the Sun and Moon talking —

just two friends catching up while the sky changes shifts.

Sun:

Hey, you’re early today. Couldn’t wait to take over, huh?

Moon:

(laughs) You say that every time.

I’m not here to take over, yaar — just to give you a break.

Sun:

Break? You think burning all day is easy?

People stare, sweat, curse me, and still expect sunsets like paintings.

Moon:

And yet they miss you when it rains.

You’re like that friend who annoys everyone but no one can live without.

Sun:

Fair.

But you’ve got it easy — soft light, romantic songs, quiet oceans.

Everyone writes poetry for you.

Moon:

Please, don’t start.

You get sunflowers, solar panels, and full-time worship.

I just get late-night overthinkers and wolves howling for attention.

Sun (laughing):

Okay, okay, point taken.

But tell me something — doesn’t it bother you that you only shine because of me?

Moon:

Not at all.

If my light can make someone’s night gentler,

does it matter where it comes from?

You radiate. I reflect.

We both glow — just differently.

Sun (smiling):

You and your wisdom again.

Sometimes I feel like you’re the calm version of me.

Moon:

And you’re my louder half.

Together, we keep the sky balanced — you wake the world, I make it dream.

Sun:

You know what I love most about you?

You never rush. Even when you fade, you do it gracefully.

Moon:

And I love that you always return —

no matter how tired you get, you still rise.

Sun:

Guess we’ve both got our purpose, then.

To show up — one to light, one to soothe.

Moon:

Exactly.

Because light without rest is chaos,

and darkness without warmth is lonely.

Sun (smiling):

Maybe that’s what they call balance.

Moon:

Maybe that’s what they call friendship.

The Sun glows a little softer.

The Moon hums a little brighter.

The sky stretches — half gold, half blue —

as they wave each other goodbye till the next twilight meeting.

Ritual of the Week:

Be both — the Sun that shows up, and the Moon that slows down.

Shine when it’s your turn, rest when it’s time,

and don’t forget to smile at those who share your sky.
